In connection with Eva Solo’s centenary anniversary, we are launching Madam Solo, a modern take on the iconic Danish coffee pot, Madam Blue. The coffee pot enables you to brew coffee in two different ways. Either the traditional way using a coffee filter, or ‘al fresco’, which is how coffee was originally brewed. This latter method, which is known from the CafeSolo coffee-maker, simply involves adding hot water to ground coffee beans. The coffee pot is made of porcelain with a drip-free silicone spout. The lid is also made of silicone, while the handle is stainless steel. Volume: 1.2 l. Launch early Maj 2013.
We have come full circle – and are now expected to brew coffee with a filter and funnel just the way our parents and grandparents did. The retro trend which dominates the fashion scene, interiors and designer goods has now arrived at coffee-making. Filter coffee is seeing a renaissance, and is right now the hottest trend in coffee circles.
Eva Solo has been there from the start. The company is now 100 years old, and we are celebrating this major anniversary with the launch of the Madam Solo coffee pot, which combines traditional brewing methods with new and modern design and technology.
“In designing Madam Solo, we wanted to create a product which looks to the future, while at the same time being firmly rooted in the history of which Eva Solo has been a part. Therefore we have drawn inspiration for the design and the name of Madam Solo from one of the past 100 years’ most iconic coffee pots, which went by the name of Madam Blue,” says one of the designers behind Madam Solo, Claus Jensen from the designer duo Tools.
You decide how to make or serve your coffee. With the Madam Solo, you have the choice of brewing coffee in two different ways in one and the same pot: The slower ‘pour over’ or filter coffee method (with the bottom plate installed in the top part of the filter), which is better at drawing out the flavours from the coffee granules, or the slightly faster ‘al fresco’ method (without the bottom plate), where the coffee is spooned into the filter before adding boiling water.
The coffee pot is designed to perfectly complement our modern lifestyles. With its white porcelain exterior, Madam Solo is a coffee pot that allows you to make your coffee using traditional brewing methods while providing a beautiful and decorative element on the table.
The coffee pot is made of porcelain with a drip-free silicone spout and a stainless steel handle. The lid, which is also made of silicone, sits tightly on the pot. Capacity: 1.2 litres.
